Customer Reviews

"Tenderloin was thick and the breading had a great taste. The meat was gristley, I hope it was just a one off because it was tough and chewy. Seasoned fries had a good seasoning without being overly salty. I wish there would have been a few more."

"We were in town for a ball game and just randomly decided to try this establishment to eat supper. After my junior high son played basketball. The place was not very busy so we were April to sit at a lower table with our kids. The waitress was extremely friendly and very nice to my children. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food was made fresh, arrived hot and tasted very well. Well. The prices were good for what we got! My children also had a great time playing a game of pool with my husband while we waited for our dinner. I would highly recommend this establishment for a meal."

"Arrived right at lunchtime (noon). We ordered Mozzarella Sticks, which are GIANT/Jumbo 4 pc. cheese sticks w/Marinara super delicious. The pub was about half packed. We then ordered the Tenderloin Horseshoe and the Turkey Pony. My husband ordered sweet tea, he got unsweetened no biggie. His horseshoe meal came out as a pony, which was how it was wrote on our check. The restrooms have no handicap rails, so if you have a physical disability that you need a wheelchair, cane, walker, or crutches, it may be difficult to move around in. Great seating areas in sections. Good service. Friendly customers. Delicious food. Definitely worth trying atleast once in your life. I am a sucker for pub/grill foods. Great job! :)"

"Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service! Will eat there next time we are in town! Had smashburgers and they stayed HOT the whole time we ate on them!"

"We were passing through Carthage on a road trip looking for some food. We stopped by The Wood Inn due to some recommendations. I didn't feel like a very family friendly space. My kids were a little uneasy about being there. Place was clean and the service was great. The food may have been good for the area due to the lack of options. It was not bad, but also was not memorable."

- Ben B.

"Very good food, tenderloin sandwich, cheeseburger and the wood chips were delicious. Chips were a tad salty, but that's how they make them, few different seasonings. Cool bar, very clean. Our server was very friendly, was a young gentleman. We would stop at the Wood Inn in Carthage, IL again."

- Regina S.
